Immune Defense 101

What are you doing to keep your immune system strong?

Here's a list of practices you can incorporate into your daily routine to keep your body and mind healthy and strong...

~ Exercise and movement - consistent weight lifting and leisure time physical activity. Think just enough, not too much. ~ Eating - cultivate mindfulness and moderation around our eating behaviors and food choices ~ Nutrition - what you eat can protect you against illness and viruses. Include ginger, turmeric, garlic, fresh nutrient rich veggies and fruits, whole foods, and stay hydrated ~ Stress and sleep, R&R - get 7-8 hours of sleep. Your body and mind become impaired and near useless to do the tasks you want them to when you are exhausted. Even slacking on just an hour of sleep has detrimental impacts. ~ Supplementation - Vitamin D, C, zinc. Also greens, adaptogens, and antioxidants. ~ Nature and Sunshine - Fresh air, vitamin D and sunshine! ~ Self-love, active acceptance, compassion - active acceptance says that you can accept where you are now, even though you want something more. ~ Social interaction/support and mood - humans are social creatures. Our mental and cognitive wellbeing and youthfulness is highly impacted by those we interact and bond with. ~ Healthy relationship with your body - love yourself, how you view yourself and your ability to get through tough times, discomfort, and painful or stressful situations shapes our ability to adapt and be resilient.
