Exercise and Eat Smart for your wellness, immunity and goals
The smart and wise approach to exercise and eating. Aka Eat Less, Exercise Less
Why? Both dieting (cutting calories while exercising to burn calories), and overeating or lack of exercise (eating more, exercising less) are stressful and uncomfortable on the body. A stressed body has a lowered immune system and impaired metabolism. Neither of which you want if you want to stay fit, fend off illness, or maintain or lose some body fat.
Seeing that it’s winter time and shorter days + colder weather easily translates into less activity and time outdoors it’s totally natural to down regulate both your eating and training. I’m talking about doing just enough weight training workouts, daily movement like leisure walking yoga or stretching, and downsizing your food just a tad so your eating more closely matches your calorie output.
This more reasonable approach to training and eating is completely sustainable too!
How might this look?
3 weight training sessions weekly
5-7 days of walking, stretching or light yoga
7-8 hours of sleep
Eating 3 meals a day, prioritizing protein and produce each time you eat, rounding out meals with a bit of fat, and having some starchy carbs at one of the three meals.
Of course the specifics of this approach will need to be tailored specifically to you. Want to learn how to eat and exercise smarter and wiser?
