Weather, Rain Dates, Rescheduling
  • Stand and Paddle reserves the right to reschedule, cancel or postpone any paddles due to weather, winds, or other safety concerns and risks.  In the case that a paddle has to be cancelled or postponed, we will do our best to reschedule in a timely window and at a time that works for as many students as possible.

  • In general, for the safety and enjoyment of our participants Stand and Paddle will NOT take groups out, including and especially children and teens, in weather conditions in which winds are greater than 10 mph, temperatures are below 70 degrees, or there is lightening or thunder present.

Missed Classes/Conflicts
  • In the case that a student has to miss a week, there is a possibility to make up at another week/day, but I cannot guarantee this if the group has already reached capacity (10 max kids per group, 5 for the 6-7 year olds).

  • I am more than happy to offer private lessons/classes, too both independently of the Youth/Teen Program scheduled classes and in lieu of a class.

  • In the case, a class is cancelled, rescheduled and a new class time is offered there will not be additional charges.  In the case that a student has to reschedule a private or separate time to make up that is Not a designated group class time, there will be an additional charge.  This charge may be between $30 and $65 depending on nature, reason and whether we do a private or small group make up.

  • If a time/age group reaches capacity, I will try to open up another day for more kids to sign up for.

About Rachel, Stand and Paddle by Fusion Fit

My name is Rachel Cantore.  I own and run Stand and Paddle by Fusion Fit.  I am a certified SUP coach and instructor, personal trainer, gymnastics coach, and health/wellness, fitness and nutrition coach.  I also SUP race professionally.  Stand and Paddle has been around for over 10 years, and I have been doing SUP with the business for 4 years, and took over ownership and management of the business 2 years ago.  I first tried stand up paddle boarding back in California almost 10 years ago during a fitness conference.  Since then, I always wanted to meld the two - stand up paddle boarding and fitness/physical activity.  I really took up stand up paddle boarding when I moved to South Carolina in 2013 when I first purchased some basic paddle boards.  A few years later, looking into SUP certifications I learned of PaddleFit, which I signed up for and attended up in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina and how I became a SUP coach. Not long after I met former owner of Stand and Paddle during a work employee group paddle.  A few months later, I purchased two of his custom designed stand up paddle boards, and he invited me to collaborate in starting a SUP Fitness class on the May River.  I created Paddle Fused Fitness, a SUP fitness experience, which has become a huge hit and highlight of our SUP experiences and activity on the May River.  We are now in our 4th season of classes.  This year, 2022, I also created the Paddle Fused Fitness Certification, a 2-day cec-approved course that anyone can take to become a Coach. I was a competitive club gymnast for 15 years, and coached competitive club gymnastics including preschool, youth, and teen classes and teams for an additional 12 years.  I have always enjoyed working in the fitness and wellness industries, and coaching kids, teens and young adults.
